The Texas Education Foundation Network (TEFN) was launched in 2012 as a program of the Texas Pioneer Foundation and was created to support local education foundations in Texas by providing networking opportunities, sharing of best practices and providing training & resources needed for foundations to be successful.
The Texas Pioneer Foundation is a private, independent foundation established to support outstanding and innovative educational programs and projects in Texas.
Fund Programs that are aligned with the school system they support. Typical programs funded by education foundations include innovative approaches in a classroom, educator/student learning projects, pilot or incubator programs, professional development, and other areas of support as determined. Education foundations work as a partner to increase student achievement and academic success. Education foundations are public charities and receive donations from those who support the school system.
Connect the Community by engaging alumni, community leaders, parents, corporations, and philanthropists to the school system. This engagement is just as beneficial, if not more, than the resources provided.
Are governed by a board of directors and most education foundations are independent of the school system they serve. They are, however, aligned with the vision and mission of the school system and serve as a partner to develop public and private support.
